Clochfaen Cottages, comprising two Arts and Crafts style semi-detached cottages built from local stone in 1912.
The Cottages are listed as a Grade II monument for their historical and architectural importance. They stand in an elevated yet secluded position 250 yards to the south west of The Clochfaen main house. Both cottages have commanding views over the Wye Valley, the village of Llangurig, and Voel Curig mountain. They provide a fine location for holidays at any time of year.
North Cottage and South Cottage each have pedestrian access from the yard of the Old Stables via a steep path leading to front doors at first floor level on the west side of the cottages.
Both cottages have Freeview television and dvd players, are comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated, having modern kitchens with dishwashers and washing machines, modern bathrooms. Mobile ‘phone reception is normally very good.
Central heating of the Cottages is by an “eco- friendly” wood pellet burning central heating system. With water provided from our private semi-artesian well and water treatment unit, these facilities provide a greener, more sustainable environment for visitors to enjoy.
North Cottage has three bedrooms (two double rooms and one bunk bedroom), a shower room, wash room, sitting room and kitchen dining room. Outside is a raised decking area with table and chairs.
Maximum occupancy: six persons.
South Cottage has two bedrooms (one double room and a bedroom with two single beds), a bathroom, wash room, sitting room, dining room and kitchen. Outside is a raised decking area with table and chairs.
Maximum occupancy: four persons.
Cottage prices are as follows:
Low Season (“LS”) up to 1st April • High Season (“HS”) up to 1st October

Price per week* for South Cottage:

Price per week* for both Cottages:
LS: £1,100 HS: £1,250
Prices are not subject to VAT.
*For the priced week, the above assumes and requires arrival after 3pm on Saturday and departure by 10.30am on the following Saturday.
Different arrival and departure days and times may be possible by special agreement.
Christmas week and New Year week are not available.
Hire charges include bed linen, electricity and central heating. Lettings are subject to acceptance at the point of booking (by the act of booking) of the terms and conditions of letting posted on this website. North Cottage and South Cottage have an interconnecting door at bedroom level and can be used together as a single accommodation unit for larger groups.
The cottages are available for short breaks (priced on the basis of no less than three nights’ stay*) or for longer periods of occupation.

Pets at the Cottages
One well behaved dog (unless specifically agreed) but any dogs must be accompanied and kept under the control of a responsible person at all times owing to the presence of sheep and cattle on the surrounding farm land. Guests and visitors must abide by the Country Code.
Please note that, by reason of the hillside location of the cottages and steep pedestrian access from the stable yard to the front doors at rear first floor level, the cottages are not readily accessible by the physically disabled.
